Beliefs
We believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe the testimony of the Bible concerning Jesus:
that he is the Son of God
"Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'" Matthew 16:15
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45
that he is the Son of Man
that he is the Word of God made flesh
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." John 1:14
that he is the brightness of God's glory
"The Son . . . is the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person." Hebrews 1:3
We profess the good news of Jesus in his life, death, and resurrection.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Our faith is rooted in the Bible.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
Our faith is expressed in historic creeds (such as the Apostles Creed) and Reformation confessions (such as the Heidelberg Catechism).
Enabled by the Holy Spirit we strive to be the body of Christ in our times and to fulfill the Great Commission.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:20
